I am a licensed Medical Technologist by profession, but never got the chance to practice my profession because I decided be a plain housewife and raise a family three decades ago. Though without regrets for such a decision, I feel I was robbed of the opportunity to be identified as such and practice the profession that I worked hard for. Being a Medical Transcriptionist may yet find me useful in the medical field even if I failed to be a Medical Technologist. I want to be useful in the medical field for once and after looking at the average salaries for medical transcription, the idea of being a Medical Transcriptionist is not bad at all. More so, the idea of earning even at my age and while at home is a very enticing prospect indeed! Through the Medical Transcription, an avenue was opened for me to practice another related profession to compensate for my lost chance and where I failed to even just practice as a Med. Tech, it would be as if I studied Medical Technology for a purpose - to be a success in the Medical Transcription profession!
Being a Medical Technologist by profession is another advantage and with this in mind, I think Medical Transcription would not be so difficult to train for at all. My family duty came first and foremost several decades ago but now that I have been liberated from my family responsibility at last (my 4 kids being all professionals themselves and raising their family too), the prospect of having a productive life related to my course at home while my husband and I enjoy our grandchildren (our house have became their haven too) is a welcome respite! Now is a chance to practice a profession that is not alien to what I studied and trained for. Who knows what lies ahead of me in this career? I may even get more than what I expected for.
What’s more, the MT’s flexible time for work would be an advantage, there would be no time robbed from my grandchildren whom we enjoy having around us because I would be working while the kids are at school or when they are asleep and my husband would not complain of being neglected since time is on my convenient side working at home with no hassle. For an added bonus, in this profession age is no barrier and to me age is neither a barrier to learning this profession or any profession for that matter. By acquiring skill in the MT profession, the industry may yet have a future trainer in me too. I am inclined to do my best in everything I set myself to do the medical transcription online course is even more a challenge now than when I studied to be a Med. Tech and especially when I took my licensure exams. Maybe it is because I wanted to prove that I can still be useful to the medical field despite my age when I had not been in my youth! Why, MT may not just turn out to be a career to enjoy but a business prospect too. SN:0MA9N2ESY
If I see profitability in the prospect, establishing an MT school to excellently train MT service givers is a challenge I may venture into and a goal to achieve in the next five years. Having the best MTs to my side and to work to my advantage in the next 5 years is a welcome thought. Better or more satisfied number clients may pile up making my MT Service-Giving Company a recession-proof company in the years to come for as long as the demand for MT services is there! Chances would be is that seeing the bright future of MT, my family might want to make it a family business! Meantime, through this chance of scholarship to train me to be one of your best MTs ever first or I may not be able to be anything at all or to do the things I just figured out I may be able to accomplish in the next ten productive years or more of my life as a Medical Transcriptionist. Thanks and more power!
